St Helena Island is Queensland’s most historic island. This beautiful National Park is located four kilometres from the mouth of the Brisbane River and for more than 60 years was home to hundreds of society’s outcasts, for here stood colonial Queensland’s foremost maximum security prison for men. The Island is rich in history and has a fascinating and colourful past.

I’ll bet, like me for many years, that you local people to Brisbane have driven up and down the Gateway Motorway without much of a thought for turning off at Nudgee Road and heading down to the waterfront. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered some magnificent photographs on the internet and thought it was worth the effort of visiting Nudgee Beach.

pink brollie on bridgeHave you ever been to Mt Tambourine Botanical Gardens? If not you should. There are plenty of reasons to do so but here is one photo that will hopefully captivate your mind and give you some inspiration.

During our own shoot in the gardens we found 4 bridges, a lovely creek lookout called the Cascades, A Bali style hut edging a pond with Koi fish in it and a huge undercover area for a family gathering. The choice of locations is amazing within the gardens. Our photoshoot netted some 300 photos and a good 95 % of them were usable. Needless to say I had a very happy client, with so many choices.. You won’t be disappointed.
